With Nigeria Football Federation executive committee set to continue its meeting tomorrow, mixed reactions cannot stop trailing the shortlist of six coaches for the position of foreign technical adviser of the Super Eagles.
Former international, Jonathan Akpoborie queried the inclusion of Hassan Shehata, who he said in an interview with brilafm.net is not good enough, despite his Africa Cup of Nations successes.
“People keep saying Shehata, the Egyptian coach. We have better talents than the Egyptians.
“The coach, when he comes here, I don’t think he will even handle our boys in the first place, because we have highly talented players.
“So, we need a highly talented coach to handle our boys. So, because this man won the Nations Cup three times, it does not give him the credentials to handle the Nigerian team.
“He is actually middle class regarding others in the world playing football. They are just kings of Africa. They are not that good, if you compare them to those in Europe,” he insisted.
